Usability

Usability

Jakob Nielsen is an interface innovator, who advocates usability to hypertext. Nielsen states that Web designers like to design simplicity, aesthetics, but those let artists have disadvantages. He also suggests the Ten Good Deeds in Web Design article for increasing the usability of Web sites.

I totally agree with Nielsen. A good designer must design usability on the Website for audiences. He has to design the surface of websites carefully. For example, a good design of navigation makes it easier for users to search for their useful information as soon as possible. Now, Web designs not only plan to offer audiences for information, but also need to have an interactive design. Therefore, I believe that how to let users use an ideal structure for promoting the usability on the website, it is the most important to design a good Web site.

Design of Web (Fresh Styles)

HTMinimaLism Style

The advantages and disadvantages of HTMnimaLism

It focuses on simply, clear texts, and information. (It is easy to control font sizes.)

I. It is good for fast download, readable text (can’t be bad), and any site that has large areas of plain text and displays a large database of products. (It is making text good.)

For example, (page 140) the core page look as good at 800x600 as it does at 1000x800. It even looks good at 640x480. All of this is due to liquid table design, which allows the page to resize as needed without wrecking the layout.

II. 1. It is bad for lack of interaction with audiences and losing in the way of images (few pictures).

2. It could be too simple to attract audiences in design because it avoids using Flash and gaudy gimmick.
